Description
MAIN FUNCTIONS
Support the reliability, integrity, and optimum performance of plant instrumentation systems by implementing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, conducting reliability inspections and surveillance audits, identifying equipment reliability improvement opportunities, maintaining accurate technical records, supporting SAP and instrumentation data management, and ensuring full compliance with Company HSE policies, safe work practices, and operational standards to enhance plant availability and safety.
TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Commitment to comply with the company's HSE policy and a positive attitude towards HSE.
Implementation of safe work practices to ensure that no unsafe acts are committed either by
self or contract manpower working under his supervision.
Fully conversant with maintenance and operation working practices.
Knowledgeable about plant process instrumentation with regard to past failure history and modifications performed.
Review prevalent maintenance procedures and suggest changes to improve in consultation with I&E Reliability Engineer.
Carry out Surveillance audits and inspections for Plant Critical and Safety Critical instruments
as per the inspection/audit plan developed by I&E reliability engineer.
Identification of "worst actors" that affect equipment reliability and suggest measures to
Eliminate them.
Assist I&E Reliability Engineer in tracking the progress of completed actions and monitoring the
effects of completed actions.
Assist in review of Spares and their association with corresponding equipment in SAP.
Up-to-date record keeping of all relevant reliability data and drawings.
Provide support in updating of plant instrumentation data residing in SAP and Intools.
Provides support in new and retrofit I&E projects.
Generate quantum of self-initiated work aiming at improved equipment reliability.
Provide assistance to maintenance department on need basis.
Assist his supervisor in maintaining updated list of TA jobs on an ongoing basis.
Exhibit good planning and time management skills.
Demonstrate excellent coordination with the electrical reliability technician on common technical
issues.
Keeping abreast with technical modifications/improvements being implemented at plant site.
Job Requirement
SKILL AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree or HND in Instrumentation / Electronics Engineering Technology from a recognized institution.
Bachelor's Degree or HNDAt least 5 years of “hands-on" experience in on-site Maintenance support of large-scale
petrochemical installations or similar industries.
Complete understanding of P&IDs, loop drawings, JBs layouts with excellent troubleshooting
skills.
Extensive experience with electronic field instrumentation such as SMART transmitters, control
valves, vibration transducers, on line analyzers, flow metering systems etc.
Experience on DCS, ESD systems, and PLCS is preferable.
Well versed with hazardous area classification and selection of equipment.
Should be capable of developing PM plans/check Lists and Job instructions in the assigned
areas.
Previous experience on spares management would be an additional plus.
Hands-on experience on maintenance management systems such as SAP or Maximo are is required.
Should be computer literate and capable of working independently with Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with national and international codes and standards.
Should be capable of supervising contractor manpower during project execution.
Good written and spoken English.
