Description
MAIN FUNCTIONS
Operate Rail Mounted Gantry (RMG), Rubber Tyre Gantry (RTG), Reach Stacker (R/S), and other lifting equipment safely and efficiently to support plant logistics and material handling operations. Ensure compliance with Company HSE policies, rigging standards, operating procedures, and Life Critical Procedures (LCP), while conducting equipment inspections, reporting defects, supporting maintenance activities, and promoting safe, reliable, and continuous operational performance.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Apply plant safety standards and maintenance procedures while performing the work.
- Should know all signals and rigging standards.
Equipment operators shall be responsible for ensuring that his equipment is functioning correctly, and properly maintained, and checked against an approved checklist each time the equipment is operated. - Check that the equipment being used is in good condition and certified for use.
- Predict troubles of mobile equipment (RS-Reach Stacker/RMG-Rail Mounted Gantry) and advise supervisor equipment failures.
- Minimum five years’work experience in a similar capacity from lifting and transporting company in operation of gantry cranes.
- Should have worked as a crane operator at least five years with different types of cranes (RMG-Rail Mounted Gantry, RTG-Rubber Tire Gantry and R/S-Reach Stacker).
- Should have work experience for different crane capacity staring from 3T up to 90T or higher.
- Will be subject to in-house training on safety, quality improvement tools to participate in Q-Chem and RLP Project for continuous improvement.
- Uphold safety in overall gantry crane RMG-Rail Mounted Gantry operation and R/S-Reach Stacker maintaining safety compliance as per Tenets of Operation, company standard, policies and procedures, SOP-Standard Operating Procedure, and EOP-Emergency Operating Procedure 100% compliance.
- Provide support to maintenance personnel during machine repairs and troubleshooting by supplying accurate information on failure history and hands on support to maintenance personnel as necessary.
- Able to apply (LCP- Life Critical Procedures) 100% safely.
Job Requirement
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 25 years of age.
- Graduate of Secondary Education (High School) or Bachelor's Degree preferrable.
- Fluent knowledge of English language (Speak, Read and Write).
- Basic computer knowledge MS-Microsoft Office applications is an advantage.
- Trade training certificate from any recognized institution.
- At least 5 year's experience in Port operations and container loading / unloading operations.
- Be physically and medically fit regarding eyesight, hearing, reflexes and climbing in and out of various
equipment. - Location: Qatar
