MAIN FUNCTIONS
To provide 24/7 high-quality medical and emergency care to personnel onboard the AKPO FPSO, ensuring effective first-line response, patient stabilization, medical evacuation, preventive healthcare, hygiene control, and emergency preparedness in accordance with company medical and HSE standards
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide routine nursing care, medical consultations, first-line treatment, and minor procedures within approved scope of practice.
- Provide 24/7 emergency response, including patient assessment, triage, resuscitation, stabilization, and continuous monitoring.
- Coordinate and support Medevac and Med-Rescue operations in line with the company Medical Evacuation Plan.
- Manage and supervise the First Aid and Stretcher Teams during patient transportation and emergency response.
- Ensure emergency drugs, medical equipment, crash carts, emergency bags, and medical supplies are available and operational at all times.
- Manage medical equipment, pharmacy stocks, medical records, prescriptions, and daily consultation documentation.
- Refer patients to appropriate external medical facilities when treatment cannot be provided onboard.
- Conduct personnel medical induction, review medical history, and verify Annual Medical Certification (AMC) and fitness certificates.
- Conduct health education on hygiene, malaria prevention, infectious diseases, and general health promotion.
- Organize first aid training, emergency drills, and multiple-casualty exercises for relevant personnel.
- Monitor and report epidemiological events, communicable diseases, food poisoning, and other health concerns.
- Conduct regular hygiene, catering, accommodation, water quality, pest control, and food safety inspections.
- Implement HACCP procedures and ensure compliance with food, water, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards.
- Ensure proper management and disposal of medical waste in accordance with company requirements.
- Prepare monthly medical activity reports and annual statistics covering consultations, referrals, Medevac, Med-Rescue, equipment, supplies, and preventive activities.
- Attend HSE meetings and communicate relevant medical, hygiene, and health risks to the appropriate site management.
- Maintain medical confidentiality while providing necessary health information to authorized personnel.
- Report incidents, unsafe acts, and medical or HSE concerns promptly.
- Maintain effective working relationships with the CMO, Head of Emergency & Field Support, OIM, HSE team, nursing staff, and external medical facilities.
Job Requirement
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Registered General Nurse (RGN).
- Certified and registered anaesthetic nurse or registered accident & emergency/trauma nurse.
- Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience in anesthesia, Accident & Emergency, or Trauma Nursing.
- Valid BLS, ACLS, and ITLS certifications.
- Valid professional registration and practicing license.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Offshore/FPSO or Oil & Gas medical experience is an added advantage.
