MAIN FUNCTIONS
The JV Drilling & Wells Cost Controller is responsible for providing effective cost control, budgeting, financial reporting, and expenditure monitoring for drilling and well activities, ensuring accurate cost allocation, budget compliance, credible variance analysis, contract and purchase order control, SOX compliance, and timely financial support to the Drilling Team and management.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBITIES

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Implement cost control measures to optimize financial performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with company objectives.
  • Monitor and report on financial KPIs to track progress towards strategic goals.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve cost efficiency and profitability.
  • Support the budgeting process by providing detailed and participate fully.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Facilitate communication between finance and other technical entities to ensure alignment on financial objectives.

 

Job Requirement

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of HND or BSc in Engineering
  • Ability to perform cost variance analysis to identify deviations.
  • Expertise in budget preparation, cost estimation, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in SAP (especially modules for cost control and materials management).
  • Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, Look-up, macros) for data modeling and reporting.
  • Dashboard creation and visualization.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting cost data and generating actionable insights.
  • Problem-solving & Critical Thinking for addressing cost challenges.
  • Communication Skills to explain financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Time Management & Coordination for handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good organizational abilities, Analytical and Interpersonal skills.
  • The candidate must have a good knowledge of finance, accounting & cost control functionalities in the Oil & Gas industry and good Knowledge of ERP software, Data analysis.
