Yard Operators

Main Function

Operate dock yard equipment to safely and efficiently handle the movement of full and empty sea containers within designated areas while ensuring compliance with operational procedures and safety standards. Maintain accurate records of container movements, support daily dock operations, uphold a safe and organized work environment, and collaborate with team members to achieve operational objectives. Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements and actively participate in safety and housekeeping programs while performing additional duties as assigned.

TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Physically capable of lifting / move items weighing 20 kilos
 Physically capable of climbing ladders and ascending and descending various vehicles/equipment
(Tractor and Reach Stacker)
 Physically capable of working outdoors in high humid condition and high temperature
 Able to operate dock yard equipment safely to move full and empty sea containers to and from designated
areas.
 Perform record keeping of container movements onto pre-designated forms / checklist if required
 Support a working environment of empowerment that takes responsibility for personal quality of work
 Operate Q-Chem dock operations within the culture, laws, and environment of Qatar
 Responsible for all aspects of team safety within dock work area
 Maintain effective team communications
 Actively participate in any Q-Chem Safety Program (QSAFE, Safety Audit, Safety Campaign,
Housekeeping, etc.)
 Perform other duties as required

Job Requirements 

 Be at least 21 years of age
 Be educated to a minimum secondary level.
 Basic computer knowledge.
 A minimum of 2 years’ experience in driving heavy equipment (Tractor/Trailer/Crane/Reach Stacker)
 Be capable of reading, speaking, writing, and understanding the English language
 Sufficient knowledge for the safe operation of Yard Equipment (Tractor/Trailer and Crane/Reach Stacker)
 Physically and medically fit regarding eyesight, hearing, and reflexes.
 With or Without Qatar Driving License

Training and Certification Requirements 
 Shall obtain valid Qatari driving license for Trailer and Crane. Contractor Company will arrange if none.
 Be able to pass certification on Yard Equipment (Tractor / Trailer and / or Reach Stacker)
