MAIN FUNCTIONS
Assist the Lead Mechanical Marine & Lifting Engineer in developing, implementing, and continuously improving maintenance strategies for marine and lifting equipment by preparing maintenance plans, procedures, and technical documentation; providing engineering support for preventive maintenance, inspections, condition monitoring, equipment reliability, and major overhauls; coordinating logistics, spare parts, materials, and contractor activities; ensuring regulatory compliance, certification, and SAP master data accuracy; and supporting offshore and onshore operations to maximize equipment safety, integrity, reliability, and operational performance.
TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist Lead Mechanical marine & lifting Engineer for the updating of the Maintenance Plans, may involve procedures drafting, drawings
issuance, studies performance, spare parts identification reviews, tools reviews, filing, binding or data capture in computerized systems. - To prepare all methods support and implementation of practice documents regarding preventative maintenance, inspection, and testing
to be performed on AKPO & EGINA marine and lifting equipment based on recognized best practice and applicable regulations. - Supports the FPSO operational teams as requested in areas of own speciality, including drafting working procedures, maintenance
programmes, and providing associated logistic support. As instructed, develops maintenance methods tools in own area of competence,
analyses the works and practices, and suggests ways of optimization. - Performs technical studies in his field of competence as instructed in view of improving performance or upgrading the facilities.
- Follows up the technical problems raised, follows-up the technical and contractual files, as instructed, follows up the warranty claims and
the implementation of the corrective actions. - Performs equipment performance analysis; develop and put in place enhanced condition monitoring programmes.
- Follows up the day-to-day activities of the offshore teams; remains available to provide them the assistance and support as needed.
- Pays regular visits to the offshore site and participates in the jobs as required; may be involved in operational works including major
shutdowns. May be incorporated into maintenance working shifts as the case may be, as required during major operations. - Provides assistance and logistic support as required for the provision of resources: vendors, additional manpower, services, tools, spare
parts, consumables and other materials. Coordinates the transfer offshore of these resources. - Coordinates as required the repairs required to be subcontracted outside.
Coordinates, according to the instructions received from hierarchy, his activities with the MTMC (Maintenance and Technical Methods
Contractor) method and planning engineers based in Lagos. - Follows-up the spare parts and consumables consumption, reports anomalies, and initiate suitable action to prevent shortage.
- Reviews the requests for materials, defines the technical specifications for purchase.
- Supervises receipt of materials from a technical point of view. Visit the LADOL/Onne warehouse when required.
- Controls the condition of materials in warehouses, take action for improvement as needed.
- Performs periodic and ad-hoc reports as required.
- Co-ordinate these actions with concerned staff, from both offshore and onshore sites.
- Support COMPANY asset installations for all related marine and lifting equipment issues (specifically for marine equipt., cranes,
specification for upgrades and heavy lift works on cranes, offloading hoses, buoy, lifeboats etc). - Supervision until completion of 5-years major overhauls in all DW marine and lifting equipment (based on Contractor/OEM and CPLO
reports). - Review/Produce Maintenance Plan as per Vendor recommendations
- Review/Correct/Create corrected BOMs in SAP, establish MRP parameter
- Ensure equipment are certified by third parties.

• Familiarize self with COMPANY emergency procedures,carry out assigned responsibilities safely and report any incident,
unsafe act or operation.
• Maintain awareness of and ensure compliance with all relevant Statutory and Company HSE standards
• Ensure all personnel under his/her supervision are well trained and aware of their HSE responsibilities with continuous
monitoring. - ACCOUNTABILITIES
▪ To ensure all engineering processes, inspection and maintenance are efficiently carried out in strict compliance with safety
policies and procedures on all lifting and marine lifting equipment.
▪ To ensure lifting and marine support as technical authority to the DW field operations efficiently and in accordance with Company rules and statutory rules and regulations in order to assure the oil and gas production targets within the budget estimated.
▪ To ensure the reliability and availability targets of DW installations according to HSE Company standards.
▪ To analyze mechanical maintenance activities and lifting equipment performance from the technical and economic
perspective and takes action necessary to achieve company set objectives regarding efficiency, cost optimization and
savings.
Job Requirement
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
B.SC. Mechanical Engineering or Degree as Chief Engineer or equivalent (2.1).
Professional experience: 15 years’ experience with:
Technical knowledge and experience in marine and offshore cranes and hydraulic power transmission and control systems and various mechanical static equipment.
Proven experience working within marine equipment, lifting, heavy machinery/equipment
Extensive experience within maintenance, fault finding, build and procurement of equipment projects
Team management skills.
Computer literacy is an advantage.
Proficiency in English language.
