Project Architect (In-House)

MAIN FUNCTIONS
Provide architectural design, construction supervision, quality control, and technical support for the Company’s facilities and capital projects across Nigeria, ensuring compliance with approved designs, construction standards, regulations, and Company specifications.
TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop conceptual, detailed, and construction-stage architectural designs and drawings.
• Review consultant designs, shop drawings, specifications, and proposed variations.
• Supervise architectural construction works and ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Conduct quality inspections, identify defects/nonconformances, and follow up corrective actions.
• Prepare site inspection reports, punch lists, progress reports, and technical documentation.
• Provide technical guidance to contractors and consultants on construction methods and architectural requirements.
• Verify completed works against approved-for-construction drawings.
• Maintain accurate architectural records, drawings, specifications, and as-built documentation.
• Coordinate architectural designs with structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams.
• Support development and implementation of architectural standards and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and Company emergency procedures.

TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• B.Sc. in Architecture or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• ARCON registration is mandatory.
• Membership of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) or equivalent is an advantage.
• Minimum 15 years’ post-qualification experience in architectural consultancy, engineering consultancy, construction, or a corporate environment.
• Oil & Gas, Energy, or large-scale corporate/multi-site experience is highly desirable.
• Proven experience managing the full architectural lifecycle of major construction/infrastructure projects.
• Strong experience in construction supervision and contractor management.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD; BIM/design software knowledge is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian building codes, construction standards, quality control, and architectural specifications.
• Good understanding of structural, mechanical, and electrical design interfaces.
• Experience preparing/reviewing technical specifications, BOQs, and contract drawings.
• Strong communication, reporting, coordination, and project management skills.
• High professional integrity, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects independently.
