Job SUMMARY
The Managing Director, Lubricants Business (Downstream) is responsible for leading the strategic and operational management of the Lubricants division. This role involves overseeing business development, product innovation, financial performance, and ensuring a competitive market presence within the downstream sector. The Managing Director will build and drive strategies that align with corporate goals, ensuring profitable growth and market expansion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement the strategic direction of the Lubricants division in alignment with corporate objectives.
- Drive long-term growth by identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities and emerging trends in the downstream lubricants sector.
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, distributors, and regulatory bodies.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and effective production, logistics, and supply chain management.
- Establish operational standards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and drive performance improvements.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Finance, and Sales, to support operational goals.
- Own the P&L for the Lubricants division, ensuring the achievement of revenue, margin, and profitability targets.
- Develop and manage budgets, controlling costs while identifying opportunities for financial efficiency.
- Provide accurate financial reporting and analysis to inform decision-making and strategic adjustments.
- Lead the development of new lubricant products and enhancements, aligning with customer needs and market demands.
- Implement marketing and branding strategies to strengthen product positioning and increase market share.
- Oversee sales strategies, pricing, and distribution to achieve competitive advantage and customer loyalty.
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Drive team alignment with business goals through effective communication and performance management.
- Promote continuous improvement and professional development for team members.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and environmental standards in downstream activities.

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 20+ years of experience in the downstream lubricants or oil and gas industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of strategic business growth and P&L management.
- Strong understanding of the lubricants market, product development, and supply chain dynamics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
