JOB SUMMARY:
The Managing Director - Downstream oversees the entire downstream operations, ensuring profitability, operational efficiency, and alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. This role requires strong leadership, in-depth knowledge of the downstream sector, and a strategic vision to drive market growth and competitive advantage.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Formulate and execute the strategic business plan for downstream activities, ensuring it aligns with the overall goals of the corporation.
- Recognize growth opportunities, explore new markets, and identify potential partnerships to broaden the company’s downstream presence.
- Supervise day-to-day operations to guarantee seamless and efficient performance across refining, marketing, and distribution.
- Maintain adherence to industry regulations, safety protocols, and environmental standards.
- Enhance revenue and profitability by establishing and meeting financial goals and KPIs for the downstream sector.
- Generate and present financial statements, budgets, and projections to upper management.
- Recognize and pursue strategic growth opportunities in refining, petrochemical production, and distribution networks.
- Maintain a competitive advantage by examining industry developments, consumer preferences, and competitor behaviors.
- Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, suppliers, and investors.
- Negotiate and finalize significant contracts to boost market presence and revenue avenues.
- Guide, mentor, and develop senior leadership teams within the downstream sector.
- Promote a performance-oriented culture centered on excellence, accountability, and ongoing improvement.
- Identify potential operational risks and devise strategies for their mitigation.
- Ensure adherence to all legal, regulatory, and environmental standards in downstream operations.
