QA/QC AND INSPECTION ENGINEER
Description
PURPOSE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The Facility QA/QC & Inspection Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of building and utilities facilities. This role involves overseeing the quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) processes, reviewing technical specifications, conducting inspections, and implementing standards to guarantee that all maintenance and minor project activities meet the required specifications and regulations. The engineer will oversee testing procedures, review inspection reports, and manage non-conformance issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance and Control: Develop and implement QA/QC procedures and guidelines for building and utility projects. Ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Inspections: Perform regular inspections of construction sites, utility installations, and maintenance activities to identify and address any non-compliance issues. Document inspection results and follow up on corrective actions.
- Compliance: Ensure that all building and utility facilities comply with local, national, and international safety and quality standards. Stay updated on relevant regulations and industry best practices.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, QA/QC processes, and compliance activities. Prepare reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
- Coordination: Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and coordination of QA/QC activities. Provide technical support and guidance as needed.
- Training: Develop and deliver training programs for staff and contractors on QA/QC procedures, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving QA/QC processes and procedures. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize potential quality and compliance issues.
Job Requirement
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. Professional Certifications in Quality Management, Inspection or Assurance are preferred.
- Experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in QA/QC or inspections, preferably in Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing, Energy/ Utilities sector, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC principles, methods, and tools.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in using QA/QC software and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.

Key Performance Indicators:
- Inspection Compliance Rate: Percentage of inspections completed on schedule and in compliance with established standards.

- Documentation Accuracy: Accuracy and completeness of QA/QC documentation and reports.
- Time to Resolution: Average time taken to resolve identified quality and compliance issues.
- Audit Results: Outcomes of internal and external audits related to QA/QC and compliance activities.
- Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Number and impact of continuous improvement initiatives implemented.
