PURPOSE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for overseeing work estimation and cost management of Real estate facility projects. This role involves Liaising with clients to identify their needs, estimate costs, quantities, and project timelines and providing relevant support to keep a project on track.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare detailed cost estimates for facility minor projects, including labor, materials, and equipment. Develop and manage budgets to ensure projects are completed within financial constraints.
  • Tendering and Procurement: Prepare tender and contract documents, evaluate bids, and participate in negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors. Ensure procurement processes are conducted in line with company policies and regulations.
  • Cost Control and Management: Monitor and control project costs, identifying and addressing any deviations from the budget. Implement cost-saving measures and strategies to optimize resource utilization.
  • Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop project schedules and timelines, coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure timely completion of minor projects.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project timelines and budgets.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards, adhering to industry regulations and company policies. Conduct regular site inspections to verify the quality of work.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project progress, costs, and any variations. Prepare regular reports to Leadership and stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and project milestones.

Job Requirement

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. In addition, relevant Professional Certification is preferred.
  • Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, particularly in Real estate facility projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and legal regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software and project management tools.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

 

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs):

  • Budget Adherence: Percentage of projects completed within the allocated budget.
  • Project Timeliness: Percentage of projects completed on or before the scheduled timeline.
  • Cost Savings: Amount of cost savings achieved through effective cost control measures.
  • Quality Compliance: Number of quality assurance inspections passed without defects.
  • Risk Mitigation: Number of potential risks identified and successfully mitigated.
  • Stakeholder Satisfaction: Feedback and satisfaction ratings from stakeholders regarding project outcomes and communication.
  • Contract Management: Number of contracts managed without disputes or variations.
