JOB SUMMARY:

Our client is seeking a seasoned executive to lead our upstream gas commercial activities, driving strategic growth, optimizing revenue streams, and fostering key stakeholder relationships.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute upstream gas commercial strategies, aligning with organizational objectives.
  • Consult with the organization to provide specific knowledge and expertise related to the commercial or business environment
  • Conduct market analysis, competitor research, and trend identification.
  • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, joint ventures, and partnerships.
  • Negotiate and manage complex contracts with governments, partners, and suppliers.
  • Ensure contract compliance and optimize contractual terms.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Monitor and address changes in regulatory frameworks.
  • Serves as subject matter expert to develop, and assess operations or current commercial strategy, guide client decisions, and make recommendations.
  • Improve organizational effectiveness via commercial practice improvement initiatives. Promote fit-for-purpose use of commercial practices, standards, and tools.
  • Support prioritization of commercial opportunities or negotiations on behalf of the business.
  • Moderate to minimal work direction needed, highly skilled and knowledgeable on commercial or business subject matter expertise.

Job Requirement

  • Master’s degree in business administration (MBA), Law, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
  • 15+ years of executive-level experience in upstream oil and gas, with focus on commercial and business development.
  • Commercial or business expertise related to the subject.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CBA).
  • International experience in upstream gas operations.
  • Familiarity with emerging trends (e.g., energy transition, digitalization).
  • Proven track record of successful negotiations, deal closures, and strategic partnerships.
  • Expert understanding of global gas markets, pricing mechanisms, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
